Founded during 1406 and 1420 of the Ming Dynasty, Chang an Boulevard is very famous not only in China but also in the world. Originally, it was small and it was one of the major roads especially built for the construction of the Forbidden City. However, today the Chang an Boulevard has extended from previous 3.6 kilometers to 46 kilometers.
Walking along the straight Chang an Boulevard, you can not only enjoy place of historic interest but also learn about the local customs of Beijing. Also, you can find ancient, imperial buildings and modern high-rises are seated along both sides of Chang an Boulevard.
Nowadays, green area covers for 4 million square meters along the Boulevard, decorated by fountains, sculptures and lawns.
